Billing, Insurance & Payment for Services Information
Ohio Valley Colon and Rectal Surgeons will file your insurance claims on your behalf. Please remember that the patient is ultimately responsible for the payment of their medical bills, and our business office staff will be glad to work with you and answer your questions regarding your OVCRS medical bill.
Some insurance companies pay the total amount of the bill, while others pay less. Some insurance companies also have deductibles or pay percentages. You are responsible for the deductible, or the balance of the bill after the insurance company has made payment. We may require a pre-payment for services for patients who have large deductible health plans or health savings accounts (see patient financial policy for details).
If your insurance requires a co-payment, the co-payment is due at the time of your visit.
Some Insurance policies require authorization or precertification for certain procedures. As a courtesy to our patients, OVCRS will authorize or precertify any services needed and ordered by OVCRS staff or physician.
OVCRS participates with most major health plans. If you do not see your Insurance or Health Network listed below, please contact your Insurance carrier to see if we are shown as participating.

OVCRS can schedule procedures at all local hospitals and most ancillary surgery centers. We will do our very best to schedule you at the facility that participates with your insurance, but ultimately it is the patients responsibility to know which facility is best for your insurance carrier.
